Workers for the Harvest
Then Jesus went throughout all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and sickness. When a he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were bewildered and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:35-38, NET
…like sheep without a shepherd… See that? Jesus went into the synagogs preaching, freeing, and healing and what happened? He loosed the people from the religious oppression. And when he saw them, what was his reaction? Compassion. He knows that we are meant to follow (him) and he had compassion on them because they were “bewildered and helpless.”
So, when you’re bewildered and helpless, having been freed from a religious bond, turn to Jesus and prey on his compassion. Ask him to lead you and bring you to good pastures. That’s why he freed you to begin with! Let him be your compass and follow where he goes. He will have a great adventure for you, there!
