James 1:2 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,”
Well that kind of sounds upside down. A trial should entice you to joy? So, when say, your 3 year old colors on his sister’s crib with a permeant marker…count it as pure joy?

Well, yes. It’s pure joy to feel that twinge of pain in my heart. Because that pain leads me to the freedom of truth. Because I can own that pain, use it to uncover that place in my heart that is holding onto a lie, ask Jesus. And BAM…He always delivers. EVERY TIME. Every single time. He comes like a fresh breeze, like a tall glass of water and speaks those sweet words that brings peace deep into my soul.
And that, my friends, is pure joy.
